Brian Richmond, PhD, is currently Senior Manager, Data at Grow Therapy, a mental health platform that makes therapy easier and more affordable.

Before that, he was Chief Data Officer at Aura Health, an early-stage startup, in the San Francisco Bay Area. He joined Aura Health in 2018 to apply his technical experience to create and manage the data infrastructure and artificial intelligence, including its recommendation engine, that powers the company’s core products.

Dr. Richmond lives in the Berkeley-area city of El Cerrito, where he loves spending time with his family; cooking (and eating) a wide range of ethnic cuisines; running, hiking, and exploring the local trails; and volunteering his time to help manage the El Cerrito Hillside Natural Area. He was elected co-President of the El Cerrito Trail Trekkers in early 2025, and serves on the board of the El Cerrito Fire Safe Council.
